Introduction

Compolytics has a long-standing focus on translating advanced optical measurement principles into compact, robust, and data-driven sensing solutions for real-world applications. Our ScanCorder platform and related technologies combine physics-aware sensing with advanced data modelling to enable non-destructive, real-time analysis of complex materials in agriculture, food processing, and industry.

Within the frame of a dedicated research activity, Compolytics extends this approach into the domain of structural micro-analysis – beyond our established Angular Spectroscopy. This project explores whether optical coherence tomography (OCT), a technology widely established in medical imaging, could potentially be transferred into a miniaturised, handheld sensor concept for the quantitative characterisation of natural fibres.

This project is partly funded by the European Union.

Funding period: 1st Oct 2025 – 31st Dec 2027.
